"Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" -Herodotus
a saying most often shortened to ""Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor gloom of night" and associated with the US Postal Service...
any guesses on what they are discussing?

Well, I often chat with my mail carrier. He fills me in on neighborhood gossip. It's amazing what he knows about all of us.
the postie is better than the news report. much more accurate local information and weather reports.
Probably local gossip about the milkman. Or, perhaps wondering with all this snow, whatever happened to global warming.
