A fairly new shop that has opened in Buckingham selling plants and home & garden inspired gifts. I adore the vintage bike strewn with bunting!

Swans
Along the river sits this statue/sculpture which depicts a swan with its head under the water searching through the grasses, etc. I love that it's not your typical swan... what I don't love is that it's usually covered in grafitti and riddled with litter. Note the real swan in the background :)

Dear Employer,
Today you received my formal written notification of my intent to resign my position as Store Manager. Since I have worked for you specifically, I have no time to blog anymore. If I don't blog my readers forget about me. If my readers forget about me, they stop leaving me lovely comments. When I don't get that lovely "full inbox" I get unhappy. When I'm unhappy I eat a lot. When I eat a lot I get fat. When I'm fat it affects your company image. When your company's image is affected, trade is also affected. When business is down, you become unhappy. When you're unhappy I assume you will eat a lot, like me. When you eat a lot, I'm afraid you will become fat, like me.
So you see, it's a vicious cycle. I have done this for your own good, because I care for you and the company.
Happy trails,
Sarah

Prezzo
One of Buckingham's many restaurants. While the food is great here... I miss "The Tudor" pub that previously occupied this space.

The Kings Head
Recently this pub had undergone a redesign, it once was an ok pub... though perhaps a bit grotty. After the refit it languished and looked empty most the time while it attempted to be some sort of posh wine bar. I'm glad to see it's finally found the secret to success. Now that it's "Biker Friendly" the bikes and scooters are lined up out front nearly every evening and place is vibrating with activity.

looking up the High Street towards Town Hall
sorry gang the back injury was a lot more extensive then I had originally thought! Sadly I wasn't doing anything fun or exciting when the injury happened :(
I'm healed for the most part, at least I can walk again... and I'm off to France on Friday for a week. I'll schedule posts but if I don't respond to comments it's because I'm too busy soaking up the beauty of the Dordogne and perhaps a bit drunk on wine.

Toombs Yard
Have you ever wondered what was down Toombs Yard... can't say I did... but then I never knew it was there!
Walking through town the other day I happened to look down this little alley way to discover these two quaint cottages tucked behind the High Street. What a delightful surprise!

the river, swollen and muddy
After recent storms the river was running full, fast, and very muddy. Here the river passes under the Hunter Street bridge.

Page Hill
During the snow this was an extremely popular place! If anyone in town was looking for their teenager they need only look here :)
I love that when you are up here the town seems so many miles away... and with the cloud cover you really only get glimpses and hints of what's below.

the main window at Saints Peter & Paul... sorry it's not an interior shot! Everything I said before about life, and my job are still 100% in effect, perhaps even more so. Be patient while I try and get everything running like clockwork again :)

town
taken from up on Page Hill during the snow days.
I'm very sorry postings have been erratic as of late... A recent career opportunity is sucking every minute bit of energy and free time from my life. It will all settle down eventually and become routine and I will be able to have and enjoy free time again.. this is what I keep telling myself!
I'm going to schedule at least 10 days worth of photos and so I offer up apologies if I don't respond to comments in a timely manner. My Google Reader says I have 210 unread posts in my "daily photo" folder! I miss you guys and the glimpses into your world!
thank you for your continued support,
Sarah

Changing Views: Feb
I've cheated just a wee bit in that this photo was taken during the first week of the month rather than the second... but let's be honest here, there's not a great deal of difference in what Jan vs. Feb will look like otherwise. That being said as I was going past this spot yesterday there is still an awful lot of snow still on the ground around Buckingham. I've visited nearby towns and not seen anything like the accumulations that my area received!
