morning after the night before...

As I wandered around Buckingham early one Sunday morning I came across the remains of what looked like a rather "fun" evening near some University of Buckingham buildings. In this photo, which you may need to view large to appreciate, you'll see;

and just out of sight 3 empty wine bottles

and Party Hats... naturally!

On a cold Sunday morning I had this path all to myself, nothing but a few birds in song and the sound of water.

I'm going to push this date back to the 27th in a few days as I forgot to post yesterday! I've had such a lovely Christmas and I don't want it to be over... that and my husband and I have both been quite ill over the past several days. We've watched a lot of movies while huddled under blankets and trying not to sneeze on each other.

I don't know anyone who lives in these flats but I think they live in a nifty building with a fantastic view... river one direction, the spire of Sts. Peter & Paul the other.

So I leave you today with a photo of my most favourite corner of my home, I like nothing better than to curl up in a chair next to my Christmas tree and flip through Decembers magazines.

Moorhen

The Moorhen is also sometimes referred to as a Marsh hen. These little birds can be found all up and down the river here in Buckingham.

Bridge Street

apologies to those reading through a rss feed reader... you were probably saying to yourself... wtf? To those of you who don't know what I'm on about a post destined for my personal blog landed here by mistake :)

Looking up Bridge Street towards Market Hill and the Old Town Hall with it's gilded swan.

a very large hole in the ground...

and I suspect a rather large hole in the pockets of the developers. This abandoned construction site sits along Bridge Street behind the White Hart Pub. Eventually it should be flats, houses, shops and a restaurant or two if I remember correctly. A while back all work stopped on the site as the developers were having financial issues. It is now an eyesore.

skate bake? or skate buks? the later makes more sense but it totally looks like the former. *shrug*

Any time I take a shot of something modern.. I try and sneak a little something old in there... like the spire of St Peter & Paul.

an unexpected smile...

After I shot this window at the old iron works for the theme of circles/spheres I headed home. It was only after I got the photo off my camera that I noticed the unexpected smile. What a great start to what I hope will b a joyful month.
