A wider look at where the previous days photo took place. A beautiful setting for a few glasses of wine, in the candle light with friends. Though perhaps not in the late/early hours that they chose... and not when it's damp :)

morning after the night before...
As I wandered around Buckingham early one Sunday morning I came across the remains of what looked like a rather "fun" evening near some University of Buckingham buildings. In this photo, which you may need to view large to appreciate, you'll see;
Candles melted onto table and burned down to nothingness
Packet of cigarettes
empty cans of Stella
and just out of sight 3 empty wine bottles
several bottlecaps & corks
Natwest Debit Card
Corkscrew
and Party Hats... naturally!
ps: if this was your party I took your corkscrew home as it was an Oxo Goodgrips one... but left your debit card :)

a stroll along the river
On a cold Sunday morning I had this path all to myself, nothing but a few birds in song and the sound of water.

flats on the river
I'm going to push this date back to the 27th in a few days as I forgot to post yesterday! I've had such a lovely Christmas and I don't want it to be over... that and my husband and I have both been quite ill over the past several days. We've watched a lot of movies while huddled under blankets and trying not to sneeze on each other.
I don't know anyone who lives in these flats but I think they live in a nifty building with a fantastic view... river one direction, the spire of Sts. Peter & Paul the other.

Happy Christmas!
to all my blogland and City Daily Photo friends I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I have no new photos for Christmas Eve, today, and Boxing Day... I just wanted a wee little break from it all.
So I leave you today with a photo of my most favourite corner of my home, I like nothing better than to curl up in a chair next to my Christmas tree and flip through Decembers magazines.
From my home to yours, where ever you are... Happy Christmas and may you all have a wonderful 2009!

Ford Street
and a view of yesterdays Moorhen.
Dusty Lens? If you are seeing this... remember the photo from 2nd Dec and the road sign you thought was curious? Well this is why the warning is there!

Bridge Street
apologies to those reading through a rss feed reader... you were probably saying to yourself... wtf? To those of you who don't know what I'm on about a post destined for my personal blog landed here by mistake :)
back to our normally scheduled photo though;
Looking up Bridge Street towards Market Hill and the Old Town Hall with it's gilded swan.

a very large hole in the ground...
and I suspect a rather large hole in the pockets of the developers. This abandoned construction site sits along Bridge Street behind the White Hart Pub. Eventually it should be flats, houses, shops and a restaurant or two if I remember correctly. A while back all work stopped on the site as the developers were having financial issues. It is now an eyesore.

Coopers Wharf
I couldn't let you all see the photo I mucked up! I've attempted to save this one by de-saturating the colour... at least this way the different details are noticeable :)

a glimpse of Sts Peter & Paul
looking beyond the new flats at Coopers Wharf to the spire of Saints Peter & Paul.
apologies for the quality of this photo... I kept meaning to re-shoot it and kept forgetting! If it's any consolation the next one in the series is even worse :)

modern and not so modern
Any time I take a shot of something modern.. I try and sneak a little something old in there... like the spire of St Peter & Paul.

deserted playground on a freezing Sunday morning.
I swear Buckingham is a lively place but soon as I head out with my camera the residents run for cover!

an unexpected smile...
After I shot this window at the old iron works for the theme of circles/spheres I headed home. It was only after I got the photo off my camera that I noticed the unexpected smile. What a great start to what I hope will b a joyful month.
